The National Assembly of University Parties (Dutch acronym: LOF) aids and coordinates student & employee representation on an academic level.
Students active in student & employee representation bodies partake in dialogues with the Executive Board and discuss issues concerning (proposed) policy, finances and (the quality of) education. Students may approach the LOF when in need of advice, tips or direct support. The LOF is directly and indirectly involved in the amelioration of student & employee representation. The LOF does not only offer training sessions and counsel to the student & employee representation, but also invests effort in ameliorating the participation rights.
The LOF organises monthly meetings in Utrecht. Here, students active in student & employee representation bodies coming from all over the country assemble in order to discuss the status quo of student counselling and issues regarding education. Structure
The represented groups make up the input for the LOF and are part of the active community. The LOF also has a board. This board is in line with the practices of the LOF and provides tips and advice to the LOF-coordinator(s). Additionally, the board formally determines the annual policy plan and budget.
Nationwide activities
Together with the SOM, the LOF organises a number of annual nationwide training activities for students active in student & employee representation, among which the AtWorkWeekend (Dutch acronym: IWW), the Student Participation Conference and the Student Participation Masterclass.
Support and training
The LOF serves to provide assistance when questions are submitted, and to offer tips and advice on issues brought forward by students active in student & employee representation. Additionally, the SOM is allowed to offer training sessions, for example regarding the rights and duties associated with representation, but also regarding conference techniques, elections and successions.
