The study grant consists of four components: interest-bearing loan, student travel product, supplementary grant and a tuition fee loan. The study grant contains a loan for students who started their bachelor or master from or after September 1, 2015. Student travel product and supplementary grant will only be converted into a donation if you manage to obtain a diploma within 10 years. The graduation term of 10 years starts the moment you are eligible for a study grant. If you are a student within the old framework (started a bachelor or master before September 1, 2015), the performance grant, student travel product and supplementary grant can be converted into a donation if you manage to obtain a diploma within 10 years.
Conditions required for foreign students
As a foreign student you are entitled to a study grant if you are in possession of a residence permit type II, III or IV. Do you have another residence permit or are you coming from an EU country? Fill in the national schedule into www.duo.nl to find out if you can recieve a study grant.
